"I had my worst experience worked for Solarwinds. They use employees as they need and they treated all them as a trash. They don’t care about you turbinou think they care about money, if money comes to them they don’t bother you but is not they treated as a trash without minimum of respect. I have a lot of friend had experience the same of me and also got physically and mental sick. Hope one day they can change it"

Collections/Accounts Receivable (Former Employee) says

"The company's product is software and it is awesome! The manager in the collection's department in Austin is one of the worst managers I have every worked with or for. They had called the entire collection's team into HR to discuss this and they did nothing about it. The methods they use are so outdated, it brings me back to the year 1992. I would not recommend working in the collection's department in Austin one bit, not worth the time or money. If you do decide to work with the manager in the collection's department, get ready for micro managing to the highest degree. Cons: Worst management to work for in the collection/account receivable department in Austin."

Strategic Account Manager (Former Employee) says

"Salary is $10k too low, Target is $20-30k too low. Quotas are not realistic. Out of 21 reps, only 2 have a shot at 100% this quarter. Gives you no desire to try harder because its so far out of realistic reach. Tenure is VERY short due to people leaving on their own after going through their training program and seeing the real light of what their future looks like. What they require of you of daily tasks requires TONS of on ramping and they dont give it to you. One month of a ramp and then slammed with a $300k quota for the quarter. If you have options, take it elsewhere. OMG"

"Prior to its privatization in 2016, it was a very relaxed work environment with trust between managers, leads, and subordinates. Cons: Micros-managing supervisors, toxic untrusting environment, broken promises"

"Seriously, folks...don't fool yourself by discounting the employer reviews on the web like I did. I was pursued by SolarWinds, turned them down, but was ultimately lured away from a great company when they made me a financial offer I couldn't refuse. In hindsight, I should've followed my gut. Cons: poor management, no culture, disdain for strategy - everything is tactical"

"Company went private and cut down on employee retention. You're expendable and working within departments is difficult. No room for growth unless youre in sales"

"Terrible management and leadership. They will fire you the moment you miss a goal. They don't coach and train, they also use shady tactics with their customers. Using misleading phrases and leading customers believe that prices will go up, bad things will happen etc. Cons: Terrible leadership, just terrible! Working late on month and quarter end."

"In the beginning, SolarWinds seems to be a great place to work. Then you realize how much of a slave driver the company is. Management does not do any ongoing training with their employees. The turn over is the highest I have ever seen."

"NA I don't really care to do this, I didn't enjoy working for a company that dropped new products on the reps often, changed the way the structure and territories are laid out, and can't get high level personnel to relate to any employee"

"With SolarWinds - it is a love/hate relationship. The company has such promise, but is missing fundamental core values. Lacking those core values causes poor decision causing people to sacrifice integrity and trust. Cons: Culture - the few fun people aren't worth it, horrible work-life balance, complete lack of appreciation for hard-work"

"Management doesn't care about their employees, nor the customers. Only the bottom line. They're a finance company that just happens to sell software. If a quota is met, it's immediately changed so that the next time it is not. Support personnel are worked long hours and given little guidance save weekly critique of KB articles. Those who don't write articles are given poor marks. No 2 departments talk to one another, nor is there communication from anywhere above. Cons: You'll hear nothing about how your work benefits the company"

"I worked at SolarWinds full-time for more than a year Cons: For Support, there is not path here. Your coworkers are drama and talk about each other and you behind your backs. The longer someone has worked at Solarwinds, the less skilled they are. I decided to work at Solarwinds thinking it would require a high level of technical aptitude, but it is barely above a help desk. Anyone with actual System Administration should stay far far away. Senior Technical support are high on them selves, at the team lead "Application Engineers" are in a dead end job so they have to bash on customers. I've never worked around such negative & toxic people. If you've ever worked at Teleperformance or Convergys call centers, that is exactly what it is like. People are leaving through the revolving door and the Tech Support job postings are constantly open. Working at Solarwinds makes me never want to work in an office environment again."

"I worked at SolarWinds full-time for less than a year Cons: Where do I start? There are no annual quotas given. You'll get a quarterly quota which although is presented as it allows management to adjust to give you a better chance to hit goal seasoned sales people also know it gives them a chance to adjust the numbers so you can't hit your goal either so the company can control how much commissions they're paying. Onboarding/ prepared to watch videos all day, have the trainer cut your scheduled training sessions from an hour to 20 minutes, be given 20 tools to use and then told you're migrating away from them, have the onboarding team have you be responsible for setting up your own mock calls/demos/shadowing/intra office learning sessions with other departments. Most everyone is stressed out of their gourds b/c of the micro management. Also, everyone is given the tools to work remotely but don't have the flexibility to do so whenever they want even though remote capabilities is sold to you during the interview process. So, most ppl sit at the office and stair at their computers or online chatting with others in the office about non work related things b/c there are ZERO tools given to cold call and generate new logo business. Also, good luck getting your accounts let alone the correct commissions when you're supposed to get them. I've been in leadership roles in every company I've worked for and managed relationships with teams of people at every stop. Moreover, I've had meetings and presented to senior leadership within each of those companies and taken part in company culture planning and this place by far is the worst I've ever seen. Clueless."

"I worked at SolarWinds full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Poor reputation for sales reps among the industry. You can look up 'SolarWinds Reddit' to see the thread where customers or prospects share their horror stories of dealing with sales and renewals. No coaching around getting better as a sales person, just beating you over the head to reach out and offer discount. Discounts that expire on a specific date for no reason whatsoever. They seem to operate around offering 40% off for a PO today rather than 10% off for a PO tomorrow. Then when they are 30% short on the goal, management doesnt understand HOW that happened. Expect to be manipulated by your manager and director and vp. Berated and belittled - told to either sell something today or update your resume on Indeed. Managers have favorites they spoon feed money. Managers can hire their friends (literally their referrals they get kick back for) and then they give them deals that close or are quote requests. Your strategic account set can be stale and changed in the middle of a quarter. Average life span of sales reps was under a year."

"I worked at SolarWinds full-time for more than 5 years Cons: ZERO training or learning opportunities. Don't expect your manager to invest anytime into you or your development. Better yet, expect nothing from your leaders, they have no clue how to lead. Mid-level management is unaware of what is actually happening at the individual contributor level or their respective management team. The AM's/REP's are constantly leaving putting lots of stress and work on the SE org. ZERO customer focus, anything goes to get the deal. Top performers are not valued. They are simply looked at as a way to alleviate the workload from less competent people. Lazy people catch on to this and don't care. There is no career path in the sales engineering organization. Salary bands are well below the market average. The only way to get a raise is to find a new offer and negotiate. If you are lucky enough to get a raise don't ever expect one again. The only competent leaders were smart enough to know it was time to leave. Solarwinds is a sinking ship especially in Utah. Closing offices left and right. Unable to retain top talent. No one trusts Mid-level management due to lack of personality and careless attitude. Customers avoid speaking to Solarwinds like the plague. Once you make a sale there is ZERO followup with the customer until renewal time. There is a new incentive for a type of implementation team and customer success team that has minimal backing from leadership. Industry image of the Solarwinds Sales org is worse than the image of a grimy used car sales lot."

"What a scamming company. Lots of hidden text in their contracts that don’t get attached to your agreement but a live link they update when they feel like it. They also just take money without permission from your account and getting they money back from this giant is a joke. My advice, if you do use them don’t let them store your credit card details and direct debit is an absolute no.

Very expensive addons, loads more better products in the market imo."
